Note

John WILKINSON, Sergeant, 617 Squadron, RAF, lost his life in the "Dambuster" raid of May 1943. He was Radio Operator in the Lancaster piloted by Vernon W Byers of the Royal Canadian Air Force. As it approached the Dutch coast the aircraft was hit by ground-fire and fell into the sea without survivors.
